As
witnessed by autograph lines at Nashville’s most recent
CMA “Fan Fair Festival 2004” in Nashville, blonde
beauty KIM CARGILL is a new artist whose presence is starting
to be significantly felt in country music.
Recently signed to a developmental
deal with Destiny Row Records, her current single for the
label, “Deep In
The Heart Of Dixie,” is currently impacting on the national
level at radio. Stations have reported phones lighting up
with fans wanting more information and more airplay on the ‘new
voice in town.’
Under the guidance of Destiny
Row’s
founders, Ron and Linda Cantrell and their creative staff,
Kim is being groomed for the kind of success in the music
industry that she is richly deserving of.
Kim’s dynamic voice brought her to Nashville from
her native Oklahoma, where she was well known as the vocal
and visual drive behind the popular band, “Sweetwater.” While
touring with the group, the blonde, blue-eyed beauty held
the opening spot for a number of major artists, including
Vince Gill, Mark Collie, and T. Graham Brown. Her growing
fan base encouraged her with the move towards a major career
of her own in Nashville.
It has proven to be a move worth
making. Kim’s CD
release, “You Gave Me Love,” produced three radio
singles on the Christian Country Music charts-“How Beautiful
Heaven Must Be,” “Daddy,” and “Why
Do I Still Want You.”
Making a debut appearance in Nashville at Fan Fair 2002,
Kim learned just a few short weeks later that she had been
nominated by the Christian Country Music Association (CCMA)
as New Artist of the Year 2002. From that success,
she was chosen by Gospel Music Television (GMT) to appear
on their “World
Premiere Christian Country Concert 2003”, along
with fellow artists such as Stella Parton, Margo Smith, Dottie
Rambo and Susie Luchsinger.
Kim, who has been singing since
the age of two, credits “Divine
Intervention” as having a major part in her success.
God has been at the center of all. “God is the giver
of all good gifts, and I thank Him everyday for a voice with
which to give back to Him. Ultimately, I want to encourage
people through my music…to let them know there is always
hope in God.”
KIM CARGILL’s clear blue eyes are illuminated with
the truth of that promise.
And if industry and radio reaction
to “Deep In The
Heart Of Dixie” is any indicator, Kim Cargill’s
future is illuminated with the promise of major success
in country music.
